NAVCAP secures a Marketing Services Agreement with Messner & Smith

Seasoned investment counsel with a consistent, long term investment strategy
Messner & Smith specializes in the management of Midcap, SmallCap and SMID (Small & Mid) equity and balanced portfolios.  Founded in 1984, our clients include corporate pension plans, public retirement systems, Taft-Hartley plans, foundations, endowments and individual investors. Our objective is to grow the value of our clients’ investment assets, exceeding the return of comparable market benchmarks while also realizing a lower annual volatility of returns over the course of a full business cycle.

Investment Philosophy
We believe the best risk-adjusted returns come from identifying high quality companies whose market values reflect a significant discount to projected cash flows. We identify these companies by doing our own research, incorporating our business experience and perspective on industries, economic cycles and societal trends. We focus on small and mid-sized companies - which generally are less efficiently priced in equity markets - where we believe our independent research and valuation perspective can result in substantial investment gains.

NAVCAP secures a Marketing Services Agreement with Red Granite Advisors

Red Granite Advisors

W
e named our firm red granite advisors because the state rock of Wisconsin embodies the characteristics we value: stability, strength, integrity.

Eight of us, having worked together at a large institution for many years, came together to form red granite. With a very successful track record as portfolio managers of a growth strategy we felt strongly about, we wanted to continue to manage assets in a more personal environment. We envisioned working in an independently owned, more nimble firm, where we could provide greater focus and attention to our clients.
Our collective wisdom capitalizes on our individual skills. Having worked together for so long over 13 years we operate seamlessly as a team, building portfolios of high-quality companies with above average, more persistent earnings growth relative to their industry peers.
We are firm believers that just like our logo, the bull and the shadowing bear performance in down markets is equally as important as it is in up markets, if not more so. We also believe that the earnings characteristics of a company are
revealed over the long term, and that the companys stock price
reflects not only the growth rate of these earnings, but their
patterns of volatility over time, as well.
Our objective is to outperform our benchmark over a full market
cycle with less volatility, and our successful long-term track
record reflects our adherence to this investment philosophy.

Why NAVCAP®?
Outsourcing distribution to a third party marketing firm like NAVCAP® makes perfect sense. Building a wholesale organization from the ground up, finding the right talent, motivating and compensating the investment wholesalers, and generating results is expensive and foreign to most asset managers... not to mention a huge distraction. How do you find the right professionals who are highly specialized, with existing relationships, with the right pedigree, and savvy enough to work as intermediaries in distributing your asset management disciplines? With profit margins contracting at many firms, adding more fixed costs is unthinkable...yet how do you generate sales or additional assets to manage? NAVCAP® could be the solution. NAVCAP® is comprised of a highly specialized group of industry veterans with domain expertise, industry knowledge, meaningful relationships, licensing and credentials, and proven track records of success. NAVCAP® shifts new asset acquisition from a fixed cost structure to a variable cost structure.
